INEOS in Geel is an important production centre of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), purified isophthalic acid (PIA) and paraxylene (PX)

• PIA is made by BP on behalf of Flint Hills Resources
• The site in Geel has about 400 staff members and an average of 150 partners (contractors and permanent subcontractors).
• The factory provides an income to about 1300 households.
• INEOS lis situated on the Geel industrial estate, an area of 115 ha between the Albert Canal and the motorway E-313.
• The site is about 45 km away from Antwerp and part of the Kempen chemical cluster. This cluster stretches along the Albert Canal and encompasses amongst others the communities of Beringen, Tessenderlo, Meerhout, Geel and Westerlo as well as being strongly linked with the Antwerp chemical industry and port.
