About us

ARG operates and maintains pipelines for the transport of ethylene. It is the heart of a widely ramified ethylene pipeline network in northwestern Europe. In addition to the participating companies, ARG’s main customers include almost all major petrochemical companies in Europe, with around 65% of transports being carried out for third parties. The use of alternative transport options for ethylene is hardly economically viable due to its physical properties and the associated technical complexity.

The pipeline network – including the right to use the parallel pipeline in Belgium – has a total length of approximately 495 km and is located in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. The ARG pipeline network is operated in cooperation with long-standing, experienced technical service providers and is continuously adapted to technical progress. We work closely and trustingly with national regulatory authorities. The safety functions of the entire pipeline network are checked and monitored around the clock (24/7). In addition, ARG manages two further petrochemical pipeline systems (PRG and EPS) in terms of commercial and operational planning.

Structure

The shareholders of ARG are BASF, INEOS, SABIC and Westgas (Evonik).
